Children listening to a Bible story
Children listening to a Bible story

Dear Prayer Warriors,

I pray this message finds you well and deeply rooted in the peace of Christ.

Sermon

I am so excited to share a wonderful & fun update. The church I attend here in Siem Reap, Grace Church, is also run by a missionary couple who came from England. Over the past five years here they have been teaching out of a local school in one of the villages in Siem Reap. The school location, although simple in appearance, is being shaped and transformed by this faithful community of believers, with many local Khmer (Cambodians) hearing and receiving Jesus in their lives. The church demographic is full of Khmer believers and local missionaries.

Pastor Sam, the church planter and senior pastor, has asked me to teach one Sunday. I am so excited to share with you all that on April 19th I will be preparing to teach. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share in the church that has truly been my home here in Cambodia. What a gift this is.

I will be preparing a teaching on Psalm 103. During a quiet time with the Lord, I was prayerfully asking Him what scripture He would highlight, and this Psalm continually came to my heart. As I begin studying it, what stands out so beautifully is how it praises the character and nature of God His mercy, His compassion, His forgiveness, and His faithful love toward His people.

I would deeply appreciate your prayers as I prepare, that the Holy Spirit would lead every word and that the message would encourage and strengthen the church here.

DTS Local Outreach

Our DTS school is also in preparation for sending our DTS students internationally soon. We are so amazed by what God has been doing through these students. Recently our team traveled to a local province here in Cambodia, visiting villages where many people had never heard the name of Jesus before.

During this time we witnessed incredible works of the Holy Spirit. Miracles were happening daily people experienced restoration of vision, limbs were healed, and illnesses were reversed to full health. It was truly the Holy Spirit moving in power.

As the students shared the Gospel and prayed for people, word quickly spread throughout the villages. Many locals were deeply stirred by what they saw and heard, and crowds began gathering to hear about who Jesus is and to ask for prayer for healing.

Here are some of the outcomes from this outreach:

  • 34 people accepted Jesus

  • 16 people received physical healing

  • 622 people heard the Gospel and were prayed for

We are so humbled to witness how the Lord is moving in these communities.

Family

I would also like to open up about some health concerns for my family. Over the past few weeks I have received updates regarding some difficult health issues.

My grandfather has become quite ill, and doctors are currently running tests to determine the cause. In addition, my dad has been very sick with pneumonia and will soon be undergoing heart surgery.

Being far away during these moments can feel heavy, and I would deeply appreciate your prayers for my family during this time.

Reflection from Psalm 103

One of the verses from Psalm 103 that has been deeply encouraging me lately is Psalm 103:2, which says:

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”

This Psalm is a powerful reminder to remember who God is and what He has done. In seasons where we witness miracles and salvations, it is easy to praise Him. But Psalm 103 reminds us that even in moments of uncertainty, sickness, or waiting, we still call our souls to bless the Lord.

David goes on to describe God as the One “who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with steadfast love and mercy (Psalm 103:4).”

I see this Psalm reflected both here in Cambodia and in my own family right now. We are witnessing God heal bodies and transform lives in villages, while at the same time trusting Him with the health of those we love. In both situations, the truth remains the same, God is compassionate, faithful, and near to His people.

My prayer is that as we remember His goodness, our hearts would continually return to worship.

Prayer Requests

Sermon:

  • That the Lord would guide me as I prepare to teach on, Psalm 103 on April 19th

DTS & Outreach:

  • For the continued work of the Holy Spirit through our DTS students as they prepare for international outreach.

  • For the new believers in these Cambodian villages that they would grow strong in their faith.

Family Health & Salvation:

  • Healing and wisdom for the doctors caring for my grandfather.

  • My dads healing from pneumonia and for a successful upcoming heart surgery.

  • For both of these men to give their lives to Jesus.

    • For peace and strength for my family during this time.

Thank you all for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and support. I am continually reminded that the work happening here is not done alone, it is carried by the prayers of many faithful people standing with us.

-With love and prayerful gratitude,

Alexis Muñoz

Thank you so much that really means a lot. I’m incredibly grateful for what God is doing here; it’s been humbling and powerful to witness lives being touched in such real ways. Your prayers for the teaching and for my family mean more than I can express. There truly is so much to be grateful for, and it’s been amazing to see the Holy Spirit moving so clearly. I’m just thankful to be a small part of it.
