Dear Prayer Warriors,
I pray this message finds you well and deeply rooted in the peace of Christ.
This season has been incredibly full and deeply blessed, with so many opportunities ahead that I’m prayerfully anticipating and I cannot wait for you to read all about it.
Sermon
This coming Sunday, I will be teaching on Psalm 103. I have been covering this message in prayer, asking that it would truly edify and encourage the local congregation here. I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to finally share, and I’m looking forward to what God will do.
Bible Teachings
I have also been preparing for several upcoming Bible teachings. I’ve been invited to teach at three international schools with newly established Bible schools that have reached out for teachers. I feel both excited and humbled by this opportunity.
In May, I will be teaching on the Early Prophets in Romania, followed by travel to an undisclosed nation where Bible teaching is restricted. For the safety of the school and missionaries there, I will not be sharing that location on here. Then in June, I will be in the Philippines teaching on the Late prophets.
Discipleship Bible School
We are also preparing for our upcoming Discipleship Bible School (DBS). Recently, we sent out our DTS students on outreach to Kenya, Vietnam, and Laos. As we commissioned them and their team leaders, we’ve already begun focusing on the next training school.
DBS is a three-month program that I’ve been asked to co-lead with a dear brother in the faith, Yang. He will oversee the Khmer (Cambodian) translation, students, staff, and lectures, while I will oversee the English and international side. Our classes run together, and having shared leadership helps ensure the school runs smoothly for both Khmer and foreign students.
Prison Ministry Update
In the past month, our prison ministry has been paused due to a new rotation of prison guards. Our team has been rejected access enter in the prison at the guards command. Please pray that we would be granted access again to continue this vital ministry.
At present, one Khmer woman is still able to visit, but it’s uncertain how long this will continue given the new guards. She is older, and having a team to support her has been such a blessing, so this change has been difficult. Thank God one can still share the Gospel and pray, as the Lord will have the final say.
Teams
This month, we’ve been blessed to host two outreach teams, one from America and one from Australia. They have complemented each other beautifully. The American team has been working in villages, teaching and ministering, while the Australian team, a medical group, has been serving in the same areas by providing care for children and families. It has been incredible to witness God bring physical healing through their work.
Village Ministry
We’ve also begun serving this year in a newly discovered area, a local slum about five minutes from our base. The needs there are significant, and we are intentionally building relationships with the families.
Our long-term vision is to raise funds to build an educational center where children can receive free education in this location. This will take time as we establish trust, but our heart is to support, love, and equip these families especially the children, who are often the most vulnerable.
Part of our work includes trafficking prevention. We educate families and children about real dangers they may not be aware of. Sadly, there are instances where outsiders present themselves as helpers, only to exploit trust and cause harm. One of our goals when working with vulnerable populations is to bring awareness about these realities.
In the Slum we have been praying with families, doing children's ministry, and we have seen so much growth in the children. They are eating more, and even so excited to sing the worship songs. They are filled with excitement when they see our team arrive, and our team leaves with radical joy. The moment is truly revealing God at work in these spaces of worship.
(The term “slum” is commonly used by local leaders, the Village Chief, and residents to describe some areas, though I understand it can feel harsh that is the name given.)
War & Khmer New Year
The country has remained on alert while continuing forward. This past week marked Khmer New Year, an important national holiday. However, celebrations were more subdued this year due to concerns following a reported threat from Thailand. The government placed certain restrictions in case evacuation became necessary, and many shared that the celebrations felt different from previous years.
There have been some disturbances at the border, but our team has continued to pray, serve, and share the Gospel. We’ve been hosting gatherings, visiting villages, and spending time with families in evacuation camps.
Since December, around 50,000 people remain displaced due to destroyed homes or restricted access caused by military blockades. Many are still without stable shelter, and the need remains great.
My 29th Year of Life
Also, I will be turning 29 this month on April 21! What where did the time go. I am so shocked, this happend so fast. I have been so blessed. God has done so much in my 29 years of life that I think goodness, thank you God in every season He has been faithful and always near. I am sad my 20s are almost over, but I they have been so full too. I have loved so many with my heart, and grown in capacities that I never could have imagined so wahoo,"Go God!" He did it, He helped me make it to 29, all glory to Him.
