Here’s a fun candid photo a friend took while I was deep in preparation for my Lamentations session in Malaysia. I love how it captures the behind-the-scenes moment of study and focus.

Dear Prayer Warriors,

I pray this message finds you well and deeply rooted in the peace of Christ.

Bible Teaching School

These past three weeks, our YWAM Siem Reap base has had the privilege of hosting a Bible Teaching School (BTS) a training designed to equip Bible teachers with the tools they need to effectively teach the Word of God as they go into the nations. We have people from so many other beautiful nations here, (India, Nepal, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, South Africa, England, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Canada etc.) I literally can't explain how emotional and excited I get when we all pray and worship. It feels like a glimpse of heaven seeing us all in a room together.

This school is structured in four parts, and our base was asked to host Part 2. Each part takes place in a different nation so that people from around the world can easily attend. Participants can join in any order since most of the teachers already have a strong Biblical background the BTS simply expands and deepens their understanding.

Each week, a different speaker trained academically in Biblical Studies, Theology, or Historical Biblical Archaeology teaches the participants. It’s been such a joy to see these passionate teachers being equipped and refreshed for ministry! This past, Friday was our 'Love Feast,' the last day of BTS. All Bible teachers went back to missions locations this weekend and wow, what a great three weeks this was.

This school was amazing to gain contacts and connections with other missions locations and Bible teachers. Each one with a heart to serve and pioneer existing, and new Bible schools in different regions globally.

"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”- Revelation 7: 9-12

Oral Mother Tongue

In this month Cambodia's Bible Society also hosted a conference on Bible translation. In Youth With A Mission, Oral Mother Tongue Translation, is a movement with the goal of making the Bible accessible to everyone.

Can you imagine never hearing a single verse from the Word of God in your own language? One of YWAM’s great passions is to make the Bible accessible in every person’s language. Even for us, reading Scripture in our native tongue can be challenging how much more for those who have never had access to it at all?

Many people groups still have no written or spoken translations of the Bible. That’s why YWAM missionaries around the world are working to create audio and written translations for every language especially for communities with no written form. For them, audio Bibles become a lifeline to hear God’s voice for the first time.

As these translations become available, people are growing hungry to understand what they hear. Bible literacy the ability to read, interpret, and apply Scripture is a global challenge, even in nations like the U.S. So, our mission doesn’t stop at translation. We also send out teachers and trainers who can help new believers grasp the meaning and beauty of God’s Word.

This is how the Gospel multiplies when local believers are trained to study, teach, and share Scripture with their own communities. It’s incredible to see how Bible training, Bible literacy, and Bible translation are all coming together with one purpose: to bring the Gospel to life.

DBS Update

Last time I sent out my letter I shared our Discipleship Bible School (DBS) recently concluded, and we are overjoyed to share that five of our graduates have joined staff full-time as missionaries! Well here is a update:

It’s powerful to witness how God transforms hearts of students who only months ago had never heard about Jesus are now passionately serving Him. Some have joined our children’s programs, others are ministering in prisons, teaching in our Youth Development Center (YDC), and reaching their communities in so many other creative ways.

I can’t help but rejoice at what God is doing through these young lives. Eighteen-year-olds who once had no knowledge of Jesus are now surrendered fully to Him. God is so good!

Upcoming Teaching in Malaysia

I’m also excited to share that I’ve been invited to teach for one week in Malaysia at their ongoing DBS! I am currently in Malaysia now typing this up, and tomorrow is my first teaching day. I’ll be teaching Week 7: The Late Prophets of the Old Testament, covering Zephaniah, Habakkuk, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Obadiah.

This week will include about 15 hours of teaching, and I’m full of anticipation for what the Lord will do among these students as they immerse themselves in His Word.

Dates: I’ll be in Malaysia from November 2nd to 9th, after which I’ll return home to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Prayer Request:

  • Health: My roommate, Raine, has been experiencing stomach issue we went to the hospital and she received medication but she is still feeling slight discomfort. Also, I too have felt a little under the weather.

  • Bible Teachers: Pray for revelation for the teachers here that the Holy Spirit would bring deep personal encounters with God’s Word, not just academic knowledge but a refresh of His word.

  • New Staff: Prayer for the five students as they start their new missionary callings, that they’d stay grounded in Scripture and be led by the Holy Spirit.

    • God would give them provision, evangelical-boldness, and refresh/ revival to share their zeal of God.

  • Bible Teaching in Malaysia:

    • Please pray with me for this travel & Teaching.

    • That the Lord would prepare the hearts of the students & staff.

    • That He would speak clearly through each teaching.

    • That He would bless the travel and logistics.

    • Pray for divine appointments: That God would open new connections and encouragement for students and leaders.

As you can tell I am not short in prayer-requests, I have just seen God do so much. As much as this Newsletter is for my supporters, prayer partners, and loved one's I imagine God reading this too. Maybe that sounds a little strange, but well, it’s truly what I imagine! So I hope He delights in all the things we are doing sweet reader, and sees these prayer points with even more joy too. Thank you for standing in prayer and encouragement. Together, we’re seeing God’s Word spread to the nations and transform lives.

----- With love and prayerful gratitude,

Alexis Muñoz
