Dear Prayer Warriors,
I pray this message finds you well and deeply rooted in the peace of Christ.
Discipleship Bible School (Teaching)
In October, we hosted the Bible Teacher School (BTS) here in Siem Reap, where Bible teachers from many nations came to sharpen their teaching skills. The same weekend that the course finished, I flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to teach in their DBS.
Even though I had just finished leading our own DBS from July to September, I still felt those familiar butterflies of excitement and nerves. I kept the Lord’s peace close, praying, “Lord, I don’t know everything, and that’s okay. Where I fall short, You fill the gaps. Help me simply be a big sister to them. Let me teach what I do know, and Holy Spirit, guide me in what I lack.” Oh, boy did that set the tone. I went from nerves to peace, and meeting the students I was humbled by the gentle reminder that it's not about me or my knowledge, but obedience. Being obedient in my studies, and doing what is required, not my perfection.
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micha 6:8
God was so present during that week I taught 15 hours of lectures, and afterward spent time with the students as they studied, asked questions, and shared their passions.
Even with jet lag, it felt like home to sit with these student-missionaries. After lecture we laughed, studied scripture, drank coffee, ate meals together, and connected deeply. It was such a beautiful time with students who love the nations and desire to bring the Gospel to places yet unreached. I wish you could have sat beside them, you too would have been inspired by their genuine love for Jesus.
Billy Graham Evangelism Event
On Friday, November 28th, our base volunteered at a Billy Graham event, that held worship and a Evangelistic message. This event is based off Billy Graham's, Andrew Project. The Andrew project is a Evangelism event hosted by Billy Grahams ministries, and they connect with local missionaries, and church groups to help put the event on. My understanding is they rotate each year focusing on a different nation. Here at YWAM, we deeply value joining in with what God is doing through the local church and other ministries so we are all volunteering to make this event happen!
The worship night held this November is a part one of this initiative and had 2,000 people in attendance, a 200 volunteers. The hope is that this will spark a desire in believers to invite friends and family to the larger evangelism event in January. January 24-25, 2026, the Billy Graham Ministry is hosting the major evangelism event with the goal of reaching 20,000-30,000 Khmer people with the Gospel.
Prayer, connection, and missions teams will be present to help sustain long-term discipleship and walk alongside those who respond to the Gospel.
Thailand & Cambodia Conflict
Warning: The following section contains heavy and sensitive content.
When I returned from Malaysia in November, tensions between Thailand and Cambodia had risen again. The U.S. Embassy issued a warning advising caution near the border.
From what I understand, a Thai soldier stepped onto Khmer land and triggered a landmine left from the Khmer Rouge era in the 1970s. Much of Cambodia’s rural land is still affected by landmines. This incident sparked anger within the Thai military.
Reports shared publicly stated that Thai forces captured Khmer soldiers, killed 14 Khmer citizens, and assaulted local villagers along the border. Thirteen migrant workers traveling home along the border were attacked, and one 18-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by soldiers. This has deeply wounded and angered communities throughout Cambodia.
The pain is immense. As humans, we grieve the injustice and violence. As followers of Jesus, we hold both nations in prayer. The Khmer news primarily shows Khmer victims, but we know Thailand also carries its own stories of loss and suffering. Let us be people of the Kingdom holding to peace, praying for protection, healing and reconciliation.
Christmas
I’m excited to share that I will be home for two weeks! One of YWAM’s core values is family, and we are blessed with time off to celebrate with loved ones. I will be spending a short two weeks in California. Praise God for providing a ticket home. I am so thankful as I deeply miss my family, and I plan to absorb all the time I can with them.
Prayer Requests
The Students: Pray that every student in our DTS and DBS would encounter God deeply, fall in love with His Word, and be equipped as bold, humble missionaries.
Cambodia: Pray for peace at the Thai–Cambodia border, for healing/forgiveness for victims, and for comfort for the families grieving loss or trauma.
Ministry: Pray for unity, wisdom, and spiritual covering over our staff as we prepare for the next DTS and future Bible schools.
Provision: Pray for financial provision for my ongoing ministry, travel, and living expenses as I serve full-time with YWAM.
Rest: Pray that my two weeks home for Christmas will be refreshing, life-giving, and filled with God’s presence.
Thank you so much for your prayers, support, and love. Your partnership encourages me daily and makes a real impact in the lives of students and families here in Cambodia. I am deeply grateful for each of you.
----- With love and prayerful gratitude,
Alexis Muñoz
